Thousands of flight are being cancelled daily due to global outbreak of the corona virus, none of these longest flights are affected as of now.


Singapore Airlines flight SQ 21/22 took the top position on

Air Travel is the most popular and rapidly growing means of transportation always reporting a huge increase in passenger year by year. Despite being popular among people airlines are still working to make the flight time as short as possible. 


Since October 11, 2018 Singapore Airlines Flight, SQ 21/22 is the worlds longest flight which is operated between Singapore and Newark lasting for around 18 hours 30 minutes operated by Airbus A350-900ULR aircraft.


Airliners used in the longest flights..

Airbus A350-900ULR is the longest range Airbus jetliner which is capable of flying 18,000 Kilometers (9,700 nmi). It is being used by Singapore Airlines for the worlds longest flight. 



Emirates First flight between Auckland-Dubai commenced 
on March 02, 2016 

Airbus A380-800, the worlds largest jetliner is capable of flying a range of 15,200 Kilometers (8,200 nmi) with 544 passengers.


Boeing 777-200LR is the longest range Boeing jetliner which is capable of flying 15,843 Kilometers (8,555 nmi) with 317 passengers.


Here is the list of current longest flights in 2020. All of these flights are being continued since last year. Two new flights are also going to be added later in 2020 by Qantas in April and by Air New Zealand in October.

Qantas to commence yet another long-haul flight in April, 2020

Two more long-haul flights have been announced one each by Qantas and another by Air New Zealand. The flight details of these flights are as follow:

    Flight time: 17 Hours, 20 Minutes

! Auckland-Newark, Air New Zealand

    Flight time: 17 Hours, 20 Minutes


    Aircraft: Boeing 787-9


After these two flights are enabled in service then Qantas Brisbane-Chicago flight will become the fourth longest.


Similarly, Air New Zealand Auckland-Newark flight will become the sixth longest.


However, these flights may be launched later than the expected date citing wake of Corona virus.

As more research flights are being conducted, many new flights will be launched in the near future.
