Eva Air, Second largest Taiwanese airline has secured the highest cleanliness ranking. Eva Air was placed second in last year's ranking. Similarly, Japan Airlines, ANA All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines and Asiana Airlines secured second, third, fourth and fifth spots respectively, according to a report publicized by a UK-based Aviation consultancy, Skytrax.
Survey was conducted among passengers from over 100 countries, including a total of 21.65 million eligible entries.
Asian Carriers dominated the top 5 spots with no airline from other continents.
While considering these ranks, passengers were asked to rate the standards and quality of cleanliness in the aircraft cabin along with seat areas, tables, carpets, cabin panels and washrooms, each contributing to the ratings and final result.
The highest rated European airline was Swiss International Airlines, which stood seventh in the list followed by Lufthansa in the tenth position.
However, no any US carrier made it to Top 20. Air Canada was awarded the Best Airline Cabin Cleanliness in North America.
Azul Airlines, a Brazilian airline topped the list in South America.
Similarly, Qatar Airways and South African Airlines were awarded the award for Best Airline Cabin Cleanliness in Middle East and Africa respectively.
Air New Zealand nabbed the top spot in Australia/Pacific region.
