The Qatari Royal Family has listed a highly-configured VVIP Boeing 747-8i for sale on the market. Earlier in 2018, the Qatari government has devasted two ultra-luxurious Boeing 747s. The aircraft, registered A7-HBJ, is being sold with only 1069 total flight hours.

Back in 2018, the government of Qatar sold a B747SP model aircraft to CSDS Asset Management. A 747-8i Boeing Business Jet, or BBJ, was also gifted to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that same year.

Now another luxurious Qatari VVIP 747-8i BBJ, with under 300 cycles on each of its four GE Aviation GEnx-2B67/P engines. The aircraft, registered A7-HBJ, is being sold with only 1069 total flight hours.

Only 89 passenger seats

The VVIP aircraft has a crew of 18 and can carry 89 passengers, a relatively small number compared to 605 people that a 747-8i can accommodate, in one-class configuration.

The Qatari Boeing 747-8i BBJ has been parked in Zurich since June. The aircraft is being sold by AMAC Aerospace in Zurich.

I’m sure we’re all dying to know how much the plane is on sale for. The normal list price for a 747-8 is close to $420 million, and I imagine this one was way more expensive, given the custom configuration.

AMAC Aerospace has not provided an exact price for the aircraft but rather you have to contact them to find out (and I doubt they’ll just give anyone a quote).

However, neither the seller or Royal Family have provided any clarification as to why the aircraft is being sold. The Royal family have another two private B747’s.

You can see pictures of the aircraft as it exists now below:
